Jennifer holds a wide variety of teaching experience and interests, which she draws upon to create a dynamic and creative teaching environment. She currently teaches as a Guest Lecturer at Vincennes University. She has served on the faculty of the Northwest Missouri State University Music Camp of Excellence for 10 years, and for 3 years taught as an Associate Instructor in Oboe at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She has worked with a variety of age and skill levels, and has experience teaching all woodwinds, coaching chamber music, and teaching music theory, music history, music appreciation, and world music courses. She has written two sets of Orchestral Repertoire quizzes, which have been in use at both Indiana University and the Juilliard School.
Jennifer has been repairing instruments almost as long as she has been playing them. She is largely self-taught, and has shadowed expert repairman Carlos Coehlo in oboe repair. She can perform adjustments, replace tenon and bumper corks, replace pads and springs, and perform minor crack repair. Repair fees are $25 an hour plus the cost of materials.
